Title of section for this section 6 Children’s Programs Celebrate bears in September, get spooky in October, and play with puppets in November. Programs requiring registration are noted. Registration opens August 1. SEPTEMBER Beary Big Trivia Night Friday, September 6, 5:50–7:00 PM, Grades 4 to 6 No admittance after 6:00 PM Test your knowledge of bears against that of your opponents. A smartphone or tablet with Wi-Fi connectivity is required to play. Pizza and dessert provided. No adults admitted in the building during this after-hours program. Registration Required Science Fun for Little Ones: Bears Monday, September 9 10–10:45 AM, Drop-in Ages 3 to 5 We’ll read a story and learn all about bears while exploring several play stations. Mission Hibernation Monday, September 23 11:00 AM–12:00 PM Grades K to 3 In this role-playing game, your ursine character must overcome imagined (by you) obstacles to your hibernation preparations. Registration Required Composing Creepy Carols with Thurber House Monday, September 23 1–2:00 PM Grades 4 to 6 Transform traditional holiday songs into creepy classics by rewriting the lyrics for the upcoming spooky season. These songs will be sung in the Village of Granville by the Creepy Carolers (see page 4). This program is generously sponsored by the Susan Cramer Fund and is presented by Meg Brown of Thurber House.
