Title of section for this section 20 The Health of Central Ohio’s Streams with Dr. Doug Spieles Tuesday, October 22 7–8:00 PM According to a recent study by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, 86% of Ohio’s large rivers meet or exceed the state’s water quality standards. But what do we know about the small streams that run through our backyards and communities? What makes a stream “healthy” or “impaired,” and what can we do to protect our small streams? In this presentation we will explore these questions and share some of our own data on stream quality in central Ohio. Mocktail Mixer with Adam Monday, October 28 7–8:00 PM Learn how to craft seasonal mocktails with professional bartender, Adam, from Village Wine Co. Adam will demonstrate how to create three unique drinks for the upcoming holiday seasons. Taste, mingle, and enjoy! NOVEMBER World-Building in Fantasy and Sci-Fi with Thurber House Part Two: Writing Monday, November 4 6–7:30 PM This workshop will build on what participants learned during the first session by giving time and supportive guidance to write and further develop their original fantasy and sci-fi worlds.
