Encounter gnomes, fairies and perhaps even a big bad wolf! Familiar fables and fairytales weave their way through this year’s 11th Annual Model Train Show. Explore over 20 train layouts and 11 scales of model trains. The Train Show opens on December 7 th and continues with limited run times through December 14 th . Special Opening Day Events on December 7 th include craft stations for kids and musical entertainment from Granville High School music ensembles 2-4:00 pm, and a free photobooth with photographer Liz Argyle sponsored by the Licking County Foundation from 4-7:00 pm. And don’t forget—this is the one magical day of the year when visitors can enter through the library’s front doors. Kids can pick up a seek-and-find check sheet to look for fairytale characters hidden on all three floors of the library as they explore the train show. Participants will choose one of their original haiku to put on a rock to keep or to place in a location of their choosing. Nov. 16 | 10-11:00 AM | Ages 3-5 Registration required and space is limited to 20 children with an accompanying adult Roar, stomp, and explore as we “dig” into the prehistoric lives of dinosaurs. Together, we’ll explore what dinosaurs ate and how we know. Then, you’ll become a paleontolo- gist yourself to match colors and patterns on colorful dino- saur eggs, touch feathers, skins, and rocks, sort shapes at a dig site, and even measure your own footprint against those of dinosaurs. Craft-and-Dash Sat. Dec. 21 | Drop-in 2-4:00 PM | Grades K-6 During this drop-in program, make a present to give using left-over supplies from previous programs. One present per kid. While supplies last. Supplies may include umbrellas, tote bags, and banks to paint.
