Wind and Wood Players is a classical music trio ensemble of Linda Habig (flute), Robin Brown (violin), and Dan Clark (cello). Registration Required Light, Color, and Black Holes in the Universe Saturday, July 19 2–3:00 PM & 3:15–4:15 PM For Rising Grades 3 to Adult Marilyn P. McConnell Planetarium | Olin Science Hall, Denison University Join Professor Dan Homan in Denison’s Marilyn P. McConnell Planetarium to explore how light and color are generated by the stars that fill the night’s sky. We take a tour of our local cosmos, visiting stars and learning about their life cycles, which sometimes leave behind one of the darkest and most mysterious objects in the Universe, a black hole. JUNE The Great Art Hunt: Become a Museum Detective Monday, June 2 11:30 AM–12:30 PM Rising Grades K to 6 Put on your detective hat and sharpen your observation skills. Hunt for hidden clues, discover patterns, and unlock the secrets of art in this hands-on observation adventure with Sam Smith and Megan Hancock from the Denison Museum. Preschool Color Walk Tuesday, June 3 10:30–11:15 AM Ages 3 to 5 After meeting at the library, we’ll walk together through the village with Purple Monster looking for colors. Rain or shine! This program will only be canceled for extreme weather. Color Our World Writing Workshop Tuesday, June 3 11–11:45 AM Rising Grades 4 to 6 Learn about a nation-wide creative writing contest and get inspired to write a short story about a character who changes someone else’s day for the better. Contest details will be available the Children’s Department for those not able to attend. Color Theory Friday, June 6 1–1:45 PM Rising Grades K to 6 Make a color wheel and learn how and why artists choose what colors to use. Percy the Purple Cow Wednesday, June 25 3:30–4:10 PM Families with Kids of All Ages Roz Puppets presents a story about a happy little cow who turns purple because of her love of grape soda. This magazine will feature poetry, fiction, and non-fiction by the Granville community, and is generously sponsored by The Susan Cramer Fund. From Grade 4 through Adults, students and residents of Granville are invited to submit their original, written work for consideration. For more information and submission guidelines, please visit www.GranvilleLibrary.org. Submissions will be accepted through Monday, June 30, 2025. The Susan Cramer Fund was established in 2023, honoring Susan’s dedication to the library and her contributions to creative writing programs in Granville.
