MARCH Let’s All Make a Kite Two Drop-in Sessions: Sunday, March 22 | 2–4:00 PM Friday, March 27 | 3:30–5:30 PM Community Room All necessary materials will be provided to assemble and decorate a kite. On Saturday, March 28 we’ll fly kites together on the Bryn Du lawn from 2–3:00 PM. First come, first served for all ages. Let’s Go Fly a Kite Saturday, March 28 | 2–3:00 PM Bryn Du Lawn Adults, teens, and kids…let’s fly our kites all together! Fly the kite you assembled and decorated during one of the “Let’s All Make a Kite” programs or bring your own. Weather permitting. There will be no rain date. APRIL Book Sale with the Friends of the Granville Public Library Saturday, April 18 | 9:00 AM–1:00 PM Community Room Visit the Friends of the Granville Public Library book sale in the Community Room! There will be books, DVDs, CDs and more! Most items are a suggested donation of $1 per item. During the last hour of the sale, from 12–1:00 PM, for a suggested donation of $5 you can fill a paper grocery bag with books, CDs, & DVDs. All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Granville Public Library. 4 All Together Now—Everyone is invited!

MAY America 250 Saturday, May 9 | 12–6:00 PM We are all a part of America’s story! Celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday by adding a handprint to a collaborative canvas. While you are here, anjoy a red, white, and blue snow cone and try out our one-word spelling bee for a chance to win a prize! OSU BUGmobile: Unique Animals On the Move Thursday, May 28 | 1–3:00 PM On Broadway, in front of the library The BUGmobile is the entomology classroom that comes to you! When you step on board this mobile bug zoo, classroom and laboratory, you are welcome to just look—or you can touch and hold a few of the animals here, with supervision of course. The Insectary itself is home to about 150 different species. Tarantulas, cockroaches, scorpions, and pill bugs are just a few of the live insects on the BUGmobile. GPL at the Granville Farmers Market Saturday, May 30 | 8:30 AM–12:00 PM Raccoon Valley Park, 1225 River Road Library staff will be at the Farmers Market to answer questions about Unearth a Story, the library’s summer reading program for children, teens, and adults. 5 All Together Now—Everyone is invited!

Can you solve puzzles to gather the ingredients, mix them, and save the world before it’s too late? Attendees will use their new skills to adorn a set of two coasters. Adult Tech: Herb Markers Wednesday, March 11 5–7:00 PM Learning Lab Come create and decorate herb markers for your spring garden. Tech Class: Catching AI Thursday, March 19 1–3:00 PM & 5–7:00 PM Learning Lab AI is getting smarter. In this class we will talk about AI and finding ways to spot it in the wild. APRIL The Louis Sullivan Building: From Past to Purpose Tuesday, April 7 5:30–7:00 PM Become immersed in intricately tiled mosaics, opalescent art glass windows, warm mahogany, elegant serpentine and geometric stenciled murals as you hear the story of Louis Sullivan’s jewel box built in 1914 and opened in August of 1915 as the Home Building Association Company. Ticks in Licking County — When and Where and Why Should I Care? with Jessica Rettig Tuesday, April 28 7–8:00 PM This presentation introduces you to our local tick species, providing information on where and when they are abundant in Licking County (and across Ohio), explaining how ticks might influence population health, and offering guidance for personal protection and resources for learning more. Jessica Rettig teaches biology and global health at Denison University. MAY Plant Swap Sunday, May 3 3–4:00 PM Bring your extras to trade with other gardeners. To promote native pollinator-friendly gardening, we encourage you to bring in non-invasive plants to swap. Licking County Pollinator Pathway will be on-hand with a selection of native plants and to provide information about pollinator gardening. Participants will be able to walk away with one new plant for each one they bring. Label your plants. Arrive by 3:00 PM; swapping will begin at 3:15 PM.
