Title of section for this section 6 Children’s Programs Stay warm and cozy with fun activities in the Children’s Department this winter. Programs requiring registration are noted. Registration opens November 1. DECEMBER Family Fun Lab: Grandma vs. Reindeer Saturday, December 14 4–6:00 PM Families (Kids in Grades K to 6) Are you Team Grandma or Team Reindeer? Build a brushbot and decorate it as either a grandma or reindeer before sending it into battle. Only one person needs to register for the entire family. Registration Required Puzzle Race, Jr. Friday, December 20 6–7:30 PM Families (Kids in Grades K to 6) Race against other teams to complete a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle first. Teams should be comprised of 3–6 people. Only one person needs to register for the entire team. Team members must arrive by 6:00 PM. Noon Year’s Eve Eve Party Monday, December 30 11:15 AM–12:45 PM Families (Kids of All Ages) We’ll make party hats, noise makers, and cut confetti in preparation for the countdown to noon. Stick around after the clock strikes noon for games. JANUARY Pop Culture Trivia Night Friday, January 3 5:45–7:00 PM Grades 4 to 6 Test your knowledge against that of your opponents. A smartphone or tablet with Wi-Fi connectivity is required to play. Snacks provided. No grown-ups admitted in the building during this after-hours program. Registration Required STEM Snowflake Challenge Saturday, January 11 2–3:00 PM, Drop-in Grades K to 6 Level up at each station, creating increasingly more complex snowflake patterns using toothpicks and mini-marshmallows.
