The Granville Public Library will operate in a temporary location while work on our building is completed. Access to materials, programs and services will continue from 143 E. Broadway, one block west of the library, next to the Village offices.
Our temporary hours of operation are:
Monday – Thursday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Friday – Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Our temporary location will offer:
- Convenient pick up of requested materials from partner libraries
- A rotating collection of books and media to browse and check out
- Personalized book bundles through our “Shelf Help” service
- Computer access
- Expanded home delivery in our service district
We are also partnering with local organizations such as the Robbin’s Hunter Museum and the Licking County Parks District to host programs throughout the months of January and February.
Temporary Location Timeline
- Library building at 217 E. Broadway closes on December 31, 2022
- Temporary location at 143 E. Broadway opens on January 4, 2023
- Library building reopens in March 2023
What changes are planned for the library?
Library updates include:
- New carpeting and paint
- Plaster repairs in the historic Reading Room
- Places for the community to study and gather with additional electrical outlets
- A Maker Space
Will I be able to request books online and pick up my holds?
Yes! We will continue to receive requested books from all the libraries in the consortium and you can pick them up at our temporary location. We recommend calling ahead at (740) 587-0196.
Will I be able to browse and check out materials from your collection?
Yes! We will feature new materials in our temporary location, as well as a rotating collection of newspapers, magazines, books and media for all ages.
Will I have access to a computer?
Yes! We will have one computer set up for patron use at the temporary location.
Will I be able to use Libby and other digital collections?
Yes! Our online catalog is available 24/7. You can use your library card and PIN any time to access Libby, hoopla, and all our emedia resources. For more information, please visit: https://www.granvillelibrary.org/emedia_view
Will you continue to have programs for the community?

Are you offering any special services during this time?

Where can I return my books?
You can return books at our temporary location as well as outside the library’s main entrance. We also have a book drop located next to The Ross Granville Market.
Will you have study space or reservable meeting rooms?
Our temporary location is too small for tables or meeting space. Reservable rooms will be available as soon as possible when the building reopens.
Will I have access to the copier/printer/fax machine?
The copier will be available with advanced notice. Please call the library at (740) 587-0196 to arrange for copies or prints to be made, or to send a fax.
Will I have access to Maker Space equipment such as the 3D printer?
The 3D printers and glowforge will be unavailable while building updates are made. They will be available as soon as possible when the library reopens.
